Folks, I am off to Peru for a 10 day backpacking trip! Should be a lot of fun! Arequipa, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Tambopata and Lima are the destinations. Along the way I hope to make some new friends, and get to know better some old ones 🙂
Pictures, et al when I’m back.
PS: I also visited Yosemite national park, Florida (all of it) and Santa Barbara recently – pictures of which I shall put up soon!
How many times has your cellphone died just when you needed directions?! Here’s the answer to all your troubles. The ever entertaining Reuters carried this news article about a charger for cellphones that converts motion to electricity. So all you have to do is strap it to your arm and dance! They are going to try it out at a rock festival where people are jumping around anyway! Talk about renewable energy at a micro level!!
Along similar lines, there are a bunch of awesome inventions in the renewable energy zone. Like a car, that runs purely on water, manufactured somewhere in Japan.
Or the Tesla roadster which is a mad cool sports car that runs on batteries and batteries alone! To recharge just plug it into your 110/220V outlet!
Green is here to stay. w00t!
Got this on a mailing list at work today! Hehe!
All, Due to a burst pipe the water to the women's locker room wing has been shut off as repairs are being made to the pipe. We hope the water will be turned back on in a timely fashion and we apologize for any unconvinced. Thank You, **** Management
The idea behind this meme is: Take any day in your life and chart out all the brands you have used. I am going to choose a normal working day and put only those brands that affect my buying/using decisions.
And in the spirit of the meme, I am going to tag some people:
I was thinking of what to eat the other day and suddenly remembered a simple but delicious dish that we used to eat as kids: golfer’s egg! Sent an email to my uncle and my father asking for the recipe – since my uncle replied first he gets the credit for being the inventor or discoverer of this dish! It was a very simple recipe:
· Chop 1 onion into small pieces.
· Fry the onion in butter.
· Keep it aside.
· Take 2 slices of bread.
· Cut a round piece of bread from both the bread slices and keep these 2 pieces aside.
· In the frying pan put some butter and place one slice of bread. Put the onion pieces on this slice.
· Place the other slice of bread on top this slice of bread with onions.
· Take one egg maybe two. Break it and empty the yolk in the centre and let the egg white flow around the bread.
· Cover the pan and wait till the egg is cooked. Please ensure you do not overheat..the bread will get burnt !!!
I managed to do it without any burning or spilling! Applied the first lesson of cooking: keep the heat on medium! Ended up with a delicious meal.
Good food, good reading material and peace of mind, what more can a guy ask for!?
